Dr. Garret Pachtinger is a board-certified veterinary specialist in emergency critical care (DACVECC). 

Dr. Pachtinger is the Co-Founder and COO of VETgirl, the #1 Continuing Education (CE) Resource, CE Community, and CE Management system for veterinary professionals (vetgirlontherun.com)

He is also the Director of Critical Care Education for VEG, the Veterinary Emergency Group.

Prior to VEG, Dr. Pachtinger spent 10 years working at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center in Levittown, PA. During that time, he was the ECC internship director, the trauma center medical director, and the house office program director for BluePearl.

 Dr. Pachtinger graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BS in Biology and then obtained his veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania.  He pursued an internship at the Matthew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has also completed an emergency fellowship and residency at the Matthew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.

Currently, he is 1 of approximately 500 board-certified veterinary specialists world-wide in emergency and critical care, and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC).

Dr. Pachtinger has been published in numerous veterinary journals, including the Journal of Veterinary Emergency Critical Care, the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, the Clinicians Brief, Veterinary Team Brief, and Today’s Veterinary Practice.

Dr. Pachtinger has also been published in numerous textbooks including the Five-Minute Veterinary Consult Clinical Companion: Small Animal Toxicology book (2012), Feline Emergency and Critical Care Medicine (2010), and Veterinary Clinics of North America.

Dr. Pachtinger lectures throughout the world on emergency and critical care and is passionate about delivering clinically relevant, practical continuing education.
